Who should take Obesimed® Forte? Obesimed® Forte is a medical device that is used for weight loss. It is intended for adults aged 18 and over who are overweight by more than 10 kilos or have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 28 or above. To guarantee good results, it is recommended that Obesimed® Forte is used alongside a diet with a reduced calorie intake.
The BMI is a way to determine if you have a healthy body weight or if you are overweight for your height
How Obesimed® Forte works: Obesimed® Forte offers a different approach to weight loss by using a combination of highly purified and natural viscous polysaccharides that multiply each other’s effect. Obesimed® Forte absorbs hundreds of times its own weight in water within 30 minutes to an hour. When the capsule has dissolved, it expands in the stomach to become a highly viscous stable gel matrix. This creates a feeling of fullness, therefore, the meal portion sizes can be reduced and it becomes a lot easier to maintain a calorie restricted diet. After the meal, the gel matrix mixes with food. This will not only postpone appetite but it will also slowdown the digestion process. Obesimed® Forte ensures that you feel less hungry due to your stomach satiety and the promotion of a healthy blood sugar level.
Dosage and use: Take 1 to 2 capsules 3 x a day, 1 hour before each meal with at least 1 glass of water. The capsule must be swallowed whole.
The effective dosage may be different for each person and can vary from 1 to 2 capsules per dose up to a maximum dosage of 6 capsules 3 x a day.
The dosage can be increased every 3 days by 1 capsule per meal until the sensation of hunger between meal cravings significantly reduces. Do not exceed the maximum dosage.
Do not use Obesimed® Forte for longer than 30 days in one treatment period. Treatment can be resumed after 4 days.
Ingredients: The product is based on vegetable ingredients: Omtec 19®, Amylum Solani, Hypromellose (E464), Omtec 20®, Titanium dioxide (E171), Oleum Helianthus.
The product is suitable for vegetarians.
Allergens: This product contains no allergens.
Use during pregnancy and/or breastfeeding: Losing weight is not recommended when pregnant or breastfeeding since harmful substances from the adipose tissue (also referred to as body fat) may be passed on to the child. Therefore, the use of Obesimed® Forte is not recommended.
Use in combination with other drugs: Obesimed® Forte lowers the blood glucose level. If you have diabetes it is important that you monitor your blood sugar level correctly. Consult your doctor because it is possible that your diabetes medication needs to be adjusted.
Use of Obesimed® Forte in combination with other dietary supplements or medication that have a hypoglycemic effect is not recommended when a doctor or pharmacist has not been consulted in advance.
Obesimed® Forte slows the rate of absorption of food and it can theoretically do the same with medication. Oral medication must be taken 1 hour before or 4 hours after using Obesimed® Forte. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you take medication before you start to use Obesimed® Forte.
Multivitamins and Obesimed® Forte: You should take a multivitamin and mineral preparation each day while losing weight and using Obesimed® Forte. Obesimed® Forte lowers the levels of certain vitamins and minerals absorbed by the body. By preference, take the vitamin and mineral supplement at bedtime to help and to be sure that the vitamins and minerals are absorbed by your body.
Possible side effects: Obesimed® Forte is well tolerated but can lead to a few side effects although not everybody suffers from these side effects. Mild stomach and intestinal complaints may be experienced initially such as thin or loose stools, mild diarrhea, reflux and gas formation or constipation. Usually these side effects disappear after a few days. To avoid these side effects start with a low dosage (1 capsule per meal) and then gradually increase the intake as the body adjusts. If any of these side effects becomes serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this instructions for use, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
